Cement Australia Apprenticeships
Cement Australia has a long and successful history in employing and training apprentices in the business, and greatly values the contribution the apprenticeship program plays in building the learning culture of our organization. Many of our current workforce started with the business as an apprentice, and in the current tight labour market, engaging apprentices is essential in ensuring that Cement Australia maintains its high level of skills moving into the future.
Traditionally, our apprenticeship program at Cement Australia has been a very important pathway for young people making the transition from school to work in the trades-related occupations. Through this program, Cement Australia gain the benefit of an employee who can be trained in the particular skills of our business, who becomes more and more productive as time passes, and is remunerated in kind as experience is gained.
The apprenticeship program comes under Cement Australia’s broader commitment to organisational development and plays an important role in ensuring that our people develop the necessary skills and experience to carry out their work in a safe, ethical, effective and efficient way.
Cement Australia makes a significant investment in the training of apprentices each year.
Around September and October each year, we offer apprenticeships in the Mechanical and Electrical Trades at our Gladstone and Railton manufacturing site for the following year.
Cement Australia is an equal opportunity employer committed to the long term sustainability of the cement industry workforce.
